With more than 130 active student organizations at Loyola, it won’t be hard to find something that fits your interests. We want to introduce you to a few ways you can learn about events and curricular activities happening virtually and on campus!
2021 New Student Resource Guide
Each year, Student Life and Ministry publishes a New Student Resource Guide packed with information to help you get settled at Loyola. You’ll find location and contact info for offices and departments on campus, instructions for using technology at Loyola, and a rundown of essential info for academics, student life, and safety on campus. Welcome Back Week: August 22 – 27
Welcome, Class of 2025! Interested in attending events that will allow you to meet new people? Make sure to join the fun for Welcome Back Week during the first week of school. This week will include programs hosted by departments and student organizations to help you kick off the school year. For a list of events, follow us on social media @loyno_slm and check out our HowlConnect portal!
We are excited to introduce you to our student engagement platform, HowlConnect. HowlConnect is our student engagement platform that connects you to meaningful campus opportunities, such as student organizations and events, and helps you easily manage and track your campus involvement. You sign in to HowlConnect through your Single Sign On (SSO) portal and create an account to track your co-curriculars and check into events. If you are having trouble logging in, please reach out to the IT Help Desk at 504.865.2255 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Corq is the mobile app for HowlConnect. Corq helps students discover co-curricular opportunities on campus and at other local universities, view active student organizations, and access your Event Pass, so you can easily check into events. You can use the Perks filter to view events that have common search terms like “free food”, “free stuff,” and “credit.” Download Corq for free from your app store and stay updated with everything going on at Loyola!
Nearpeer is an exclusive community for LOYNO students to meet other members of the Wolf Pack with similar interests and life experiences. You’ll also be able to find other people from your hometown, or join select groups by simply clicking “find peers” within the app. Get started by going to nearpeer.net and creating your account using your @my.loyno.edu email address. You’ll receive a confirmation email to set up your profile, then you can download the app and start meeting your classmates!
First Year Council
Are you interested in serving in our Student Government? Consider joining our First Year Council! FYC gives first years the perfect introduction to SGA at Loyola. You will get to learn about all different aspects of our SGA including: Senate, Finance Committee, University Programming Board, Communications Committee, Court of Review, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion Committee and Homecoming Committee! University Programming Board
The University Programming Board (UPB) is the official programming board under the Student Government Association. Students collectively plan campus-wide social events, both on ground and virtual, throughout the year that are educational, social, and entertaining. From hosting live bands in the quad to virtual game nights, UPB brings the Wolf Pack together for unforgettable celebrations that define life at Loyola.
