LOYNO Master Plan: Library Services

Subject line: Get Lost in the Library ?

Sent: August 18, 2021

Classes start next week! To help you prepare, we’re going to share some important resources from the J. Edgar and Louise S. Monroe Library. The library will serve as a hub for research and academic support during your graduate school experience. Reserve equipment, find a quiet place to study, schedule a research consultation, or check out the Diboll Art Gallery on the fourth floor when you need a break. Check out some of the services and find your library liaison below, who can provide one-on-one support.

Library Services

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a helpful research tool for many grad students. You can order books or scores that are not available at Loyola’s library from other institutions and have them sent here for pickup. Articles that we don’t have access to may also be requested and will be delivered electronically. Reciprocal borrowing is also available with other university libraries here in New Orleans.

Technology available through the library includes portable equipment available to borrow, printing, and support with web conferencing tools like Zoom. Media services can help set you up with projectors and screens for an upcoming presentation or audio and video equipment for your research project.

Loyola’s Special Collections and Archives on the third-floor of the library provides access to a collection of rare books, as well as local and university-specific archives including special digital collections available for view online.
